It’s strange that when you first meet a person, you don’t realise how important they’ll become to you. When you first meet them, you’re oblivious that you’ll ever need them. When you first introduce yourself, you think of them as another friend to make, another stranger to turn into an acquaintance.
And then, they matter to you. In the blink of an eye, they become a friend from a stranger, they become a part of your life. You need them to go on, you need them to survive. You think, “Where has this person been my whole life? What have I been missing out on?”
And then, they leave. But it’s not the same as before. It’s not the same as when you didn’t know they existed. Even though that person has once again become a stranger, it’s not the same. You know them now, you know their heart; it’s not the same as before, and it’s painful to watch them become someone you knew so well, to someone you used to know.
